Great War Legacies in Serbian Culture
In the aftermath of the Great War, Ivo Andrić published a number of poems, essays and short stories describing the hard-won victorious outcome as transient to the dire reality of the inordinate loss of human lives and suffering. Yet, personal experiences, although perceived as ephemeral, helped to define the historical discourse capturing man’s resolve to persist in his chosen mission. Over time, Serbian literature and fine arts sustained an unfinished dialogue of the past and the present, merging the individual voices with the collective voices to construct the national narrative. The young writer Miloš Crnjanski observed the sights of destruction and despair that seemed to pale in new literary works pertaining to the war. His novel A Diary about Čarnojević was closely related to his own perilous wartime journey as a conscript in the Austrian army. The vastness of Pannonian plains and Galician woods must have invoked a comparison of sorts with another historic chapter recorded in the collective consciousness of his nation: the Great Migration of Serbs led by Patriarch Arsenije III Čarnojević (Crnojević) in 1690. The very title of the novel contained a powerful reference to the migration, and its illustrious historic leader which has not been discussed or explored before
David Urquhart’s Perceptions of the Eastern Question. The Affairs of Serbia
At the beginning of his diplomatic career in Constantinople in 1835, David Urquhart was instrumental in promoting the British cause by endorsing its political grand design and mercantile interests in Turkey, Greece, the Caucasian region, Crimea, Serbia and adjacent Balkan principalities. While observing the complexities of the Eastern Question, Urquhart recognized the underlying importance that Serbia had attained in the context of competing imperial interests in the Balkans. His engaged commentaries on the crucial changes in Serbian political discourse elucidated as well his understanding of Serbian history and culture past and present. Urquhart discerned a correspondence between Serbian political affairs and the inherent situation in the region of the Caucasus and Circassia
Tradicija kao tranzicija
Permaculture as a new political culture

Distinctiveness of this subculture is spreading across the planet, gathering its supporters in Serbia as well. It shows a developing awareness of various aspects of need for reconnection with nature and its laws in all the lifeforms. It is rooted in caring for life on Earth by following the principles of nature. By harmonizing relations within the
environment connected to the principles of ecological economy, it links technology and science with ancient insights that are in accord with contemporary scientific views. The label “permaculture” stands to point out the idea of a permanent regenerating of culture and cultivating all aspects of life. It is directed towards a conception of niches in which
the ecological way of living represents a pattern of restraint from the shortcomings of civilization which rapidly destroy the environment and dehumanize the world. The concept of permaculture surpasses the common urban/rural dichotomy although its resemblance to the utopian desire to escape the system of technological civilization makes it, from the point of view of that system, marginal by default. However, considering catastrophic weaknesses of the neo-liberal political culture,
the concept still has a potential to create a new kind of political culture
Human Nature and the Context of Progress
Umjesto nastojanja posthumanizma da tu nedoumicu riješi ukidanjem pojma ljudsko, što ne donosi rješenje ni ekološke ni drugih tipova krize, potrebno je redefinirati pojam ljudska priroda.I intend to show in what way the meaning of the concept of human nature emerges from the worldview that, taken within the context of modernization, leads to the devaluation of the meaning of human. Hence the need to re-conceptualize human nature emerges in such a way that the concept of human nature is necessary intertwined with the global processes and onto-epistemo-ethical aspects of the general worldview that designate the (self)understanding of contemporary culture. The aporetic structure of thinking poses a barrier to this goal. Its context of modern progress is based on the separation of nature and culture. The separation establishes an (im)possibility of answering the question whether the culture, as an expression of human nature, is a part of nature or the nature is, as a product of human comprehension, a part of culture. Instead of the posthuman strive to resolve this dilemma by abolishing the concept of human, which resolves neither ecological nor other types of crisis, the concept of human nature needs to be redefined
Potiskivanje ekofeminizma
Zbornik priredile:

Promene vrednosti i društvene promene s osvrtom na promene jugoslovenskog društva
Values Change and Social Change. The Example of Yugoslav Society - This subproject is an attempt to offer a philosophical-anthropological understanding of changes that have overwhelmed the world at the close of 20th century. its aim to analytically examine the following points: 1.contradictions and crucial deficiencies of the modern age which produces social crises; 2.value presuppositions of intellectual and social relation to reality as sources of social problems; 3.directions of change of these values as preconditions for desirable social change; 4.possibilities of application of these insights on the Yugoslav society, taking into account its historical peculiarities. This assumes, apart from comparing local and global structure of social values, also an appreciation of the possibilities for their synthesis on the level of participants' individual values
